Unit for biomechanics and postural axis

Laura Pérez Palma

DESCRIPTION:

•  Study of the postural axis and the static and dynamic centre of gravity
•  Clinical study of the footprint and its relationship to the locomotor apparatus
•  Evaluation of gait and the movement of pressure centres while walking

•  Construction of the latest generation of insoles using computer technology to make them custom designed and adaptable to any type of footwear

Perfect alignment of the postural axis is basic for correct performance of the muscle, bone and skin structures of our body. Posture disorders, either because of differences in the length of limbs or simply due to incorrect standing positions, bring about changes in the shape and constitution of the these structures whose symptoms will depend on these alterations as well as the muscular tension that influences the behaviour of the patient, extending skin diseases that are transmitted by touch.

Close collaboration between different specialties is without doubt the key to success in difficult to resolve disorders. The body must be considered as a whole, these disorders being the reflection of this close relationship.

CBP (the Centre of Biomechanical Studies of the Foot) is dedicated to the study, prevention and correction of disorders related to the static and dynamic posture of the foot. It has the most advanced technology available to offer individual solutions through clinical diagnosis, supported by the latest technologies in foot digitisation, computerised biomechanical studies and the manufacture of insoles using computer numeric control systems.
